I love "the Lights." Unfortunately, in our geographical location, we don't experience the vibrant colors found in the far north. Many people often ask me how I capture these shots, so here’s my explanation: If you could keep your eyes open for a whole hour, you would see all the changing colors—pinks, greens, purples, and blues. Then, if you could close your eyes and condense that hour into a fraction of a second, merging all those colors together, that’s the shot you would get. Often, I take 15 individual shots and then merge them to capture all those colors in a single moment.
